Milwaukee and beyond

Today Noah went to South Milwaukee to be with his Dad until we get him on Aug. 20 on our way up to NW Wisconsin for the Olson Family reunion. He was supposed to get on the bus at 11:35 this morning. The bus didn't get here til nearly 11:50 am. and didn't leave until about 12:03pm. While we were waiting he decides to skateboard. I saw this guy a few cars over looking at Noah and I said to Noah I think that guy wants to come over and use your board and show you how to skate. Noah says Pfft yeah right. About 10 mins or so later the dude takes out a skateboard and skates up near the mall buildings. So Noah takes on after him. He says hey and asks Noah his age I gathered later from over hearing the guy's conversation with his girlfriend. Thankfully I took the camera along and took some pix. Noah kept saying stop taking pictures, why are you taking pictures? I said cuz some day you'll appreciate having them and because I'm the mom and that's what mom's do. I heard the guy later talking to his girlfriend telling her that Noah is only 15 and he told Noah that when he was that age he skated at Southwyck mall (where Megabus picks up) and was often chased by security. Noah knows what that's like as he has had that happen to him when he skates at Lowe's parking lot. Now Southwyck Mall is a memory, it has been closed up. It had been slowly declining and the Mayor wants something done about remodeling or renovating. He throws his weight around until he gets what he wants. Not necessarily what's good for the area or Toledo, he definitely is something else. Something does need to be done there and it would be nice if some great stores, eateries, etc could be attracted there. It's hard to say who'd come with the constant loss of jobs in this area. How could anyone afford to go shopping or out to eat? Ok back to topic. Noah was pretty mean and nasty this morning. He had me bawling one time and then he hugged me and said I love you. That of course didn't last long and he was yelling at me about something I had asked him. I asked him to stop yelling he says I'm not yelling this is yelling and then he is screaming. I realize it's got to be difficult for him to go from one house rules to another, but somewhere along the line you'd think he'd finally get it. Maybe just maybe when he had kids of his own.

Guess we both need a break from one another. It's funny how that works though, you're so waiting for them to leave so you relax and have some peace. But then you miss them, worry about them and call to see if they're okay. Tim was talking to someone at work about
teenagers and she said something to the effect if you can make it through the teenage years you should be considered a saint. I remember when I was pregnant one gal said boys love their mothers. Which I find to be true, no matter what boys usually stick up for and love their moms. Although Noah told me the other day he'd be a momma's boy and carry the groceries to the car, but then said No, he's not a momma's boy he's a daddy's boy. Ugghh!

We picked up our Angel food on Saturday. Saturday we had the steaks, last night we had ribs and later when Noah was hungry I heated up some of the chicken tenders. All of it is very good. I would prefer the chicken tenders to have less breading, but beggars can't be choosers. Today I put the banquet crockpot meal in the crock and it's smelling very delicious. We have quite a bit of food as we bought three of the specials as well as the main menu. With Noah gone we won't be eaten out of house and home so it should last awhile.

Well I suppose I should move on with my day. I am so tired that I can barely stand it, but afraid to fall asleep as I have to get Tim in about 1.5 hours. I just realized with the bus running late I may not be here when Noah calls. Gotta remember to put the cell phone in my purse.

Well here are some photos of him skateboarding while waiting for the bus.

The guy Noah met
Waiting to put his bags on the bus. Gotta have that skateboard, never leave home without it.
It's not even his. He hasn't had one of his own in awhile. His one friend supports him with skateboards. Makes me just a bit upset. I said so how many decks do you owe Dylan? Noah replies, I don't. I said Oh Dylan just gives them to you out of the goodness of his heart? He says yeah! I think this like the 4th or 5th board. If I ever get back to working I'll see about buying just the decks and replacing all the boards Dylan has loaned Noah. There is one website were you can get 4 for $50., just the deck tho, nothing else.

The guy in the bandana is the one that was skateboarding after seeing Noah skating I thought Noah might have someone to talk to on the trip, but the guy's gf was actually the one traveling.

Have a great week!
