Babies and Diapers

I've always thought diaper cakes were so cool. If I remember correctly my mom made one for my friend's shower years ago.  It was an awesome creation, but nothing like what is out there nowadays.  A few of my crafty friends have created them and I always thought it would be fun to do, but I always doubt myself. 

A few months ago I was invited to a baby shower. I thought maybe I'd make a diaper cake, but wasn't sure whether I should or not.  The mom-to-be was also having a diaper shower a few weeks before this shower. So all I could think was that she might get a few diaper cakes. Dakota (mom-to-be) is a co-worker so I thought I would ask other co-workers to see if a diaper cake would be a good idea. The answer I got was I believe she is having a cake made, I said oh not a cake to eat. So no help there. Smiles. Dakota is a country girl, so I thought a three wheeler would be a perfect diaper cake. I had been perusing Pinterest quite a bit to see what I which style I wanted to make as well as how to make one.  Thursday night I found all the perfect goodies to make it, with the exception of the headlight (which is a baby bottle).  This morning I was putting the diaper cake together and remembered I didn't have the bottle, so I ran out to Mega Foods and found the perfect bottle. What? At a food store? Yes.
