I wasn't sure what I would do this blog on and then I remembered I have been reading a lot lately. With Tim's Chemo appts, radiation appts and dr's appts it worked out well to have a book to read. Now that he isn't going as much I'm not getting as much read. I have read some of the Reader's Digest condensed books I guess they're called Selects now. Friday we'll find out if he'll go back on Chemo right away or get a biopsy as he now has lesions on his lungs.
So onto the reviews. If you like Steve Martin you'll enjoy Born Standing Up. I thought it was great to read where and how Steve got his start. It's funny, heartwarming, sad all wrapped up into one book.
Another good book I read was Alan Alda's Things I Overheard While Talking to Myself. Yes for some reason I was into reading autobiographies. I really enjoyed reading about Alan and his life. Once he had such great success with MASH he was often invited to be the speaker at graduations. Without going into it further he really passed on a lot of wisdom in his speeches.
The Middle Place by Kelly Corrigan is also a great read. Kelly writes about her family, getting cancer, dealing with cancer in a humorous way. Okay so no one said I was a great review writer.
I started reading Home by Julie Andrews. It was a new book at the library and I only had two weeks. By this time we were not going to many appts so I did not finish the book. Here is a review I found at Barnes and Noble.com Home
There are my book reviews for you :). Hope you venture into reading at least one of these books.

Thanks for the reviews. It's been a while since I've read any biographies. I've always like Alan Alda - might have to give that one a read. Best of luck to Tim.
I use to read reader's digest condensed books back in the days. I still have a few in my collection. Sorry to hear about Tim. Hope he gets better. My prayers are with you.
Sorry to hear about Tim! Steadfast! Make him FIGHT!
Perhaps some books on Audio would be fun for you both?
Thanks for the review. I have not read a bio sense college... and I need a change.
Fantastic reviews well done!
