You know me I gotta have photos of water and since I've already posted a few I had to find some different ones this time. This time it is photos of Lake Michigan. I lived about 8 blocks from Lake Michigan for 13 years when I lived in South Milwaukee WI. South Milwaukee is a suburb of Milwaukee. I lived about 6 blocks from Grant Park in South Milwaukee. Grant Park is on a cliff above Lake Michigan. During the 30's the CCC built seven different bridges to get down to the beach of Lake Michigan from Grant Park hence this area of the park is called Seven Bridges and is one of my favorite places in SE Wisconsin. Summerfest is also right on the shores of Lake Michigan. Summerfest is held for 11 days starting the last Thursday of June and going for 10 days following. Summerfest celebrated 40 years last year. 40 years of bringing music to Milwaukee. I've seen Santana, Eddie Money, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, Faith Hill, Huey Lewis and the News and so many others. There are also ethnic fests held there and there are concerts that are held there throughout the summer. You can click on the link under my favorite sites to see what all goes on at Summerfest grounds this summer. If you enjoy music I'd suggest visiting Milwaukee during Summerfest where there are all types of music genres. Here is a picture of Summerfest 2001

I stumbled upon your blog while googling. I, too, lived in South Milwaukee at one time. At first, we were just up the hill from the lagoon. Later, we moved to the southern part of the city; a bit farther from Grant Park, but very close to the lake.
I also love Seven Bridges and take my wife and sons there when I return to visit family (I'm in the Chicago area now).
I'm a 40-something dad. If you were there during your school years, we probably weren't too far apart in grades.
I saw Santana and Huey Lewis on the old main stage. We were probably at the same concerts.
I never did figure out how to find your Lake Michigan pics; I would have enjoyed them.
