Hot

Today we are to blog about something Hot. What comes to mind for me is that this house is way too hot. We cannot get a good cross ventilation going and I am resistant to turning on the air as it is not hot outside plus the simple fact that I'm not working and want to keep our bills as low as we can. There has been a nice breeze the past few days...just how to get it in this house is the dilemma. I have the window open in the bedroom and the one in the kitchen. My guess is that we need a fan to push it around. The kitchen has a ceiling fan and it would be great if we could get one in our room too. We rent so we'd have to request this from our landlord so I'm not sure how that'll fly. I just hate being so hot that my hands are perspiring! Makes it hard to touch paper when scrapbooking. I guess that could be a new technique...dimpled paper from sweaty hands hehehehe. Maybe what we will do for now is invest in a fan and put it in the doorway to the kitchen or just inside the living room. Really our place is so small that putting a fan anywhere will be in the way of normal traffic.

Yesterday I mentioned that my friend Cathy was coming over to work on acrylic album. I've never done one myself so it was a bit of a challenge, but I think we handled it pretty well. Cathy bought lots of embellies and some graduation paper. I will post pix it's pretty close to being done, but she would like to add pictures before adding any more embellishments since this album is only 4"x4". Good to pick a small one to start out with. I think I will try one myself one of these days.
So here is the album

Oh and last but not least I want to mention Angelfood Ministries. We picked up our food on
Sat and tried the breaded chicken breast patties Sat for supper. It was so delicious! Tasted like southern fried chicken. Yesterday we tried the burritos for lunch and they were good as well. Last night we had our cookout and made the Chicken Kebabs. The chicken was good but the frozen veggies didn't do too well once thawed. I'd suggest having some fresh veggies to stick on the kebabs. I added fresh onion. Check out Angelfood We were able to get a cooler full of food for $30. You can also purchase additional specials once you've ordered the main menu. Once a month you can get some awesome food and for such a great price. Look at June 2008 doesn't that look awesome? Look at all the grill packs offered as specials too. Too bad Wisconsin is not one of the participating states, but maybe you can get it started at your church? I do see IL so those of you in Southern Wisconsin may be able to go to IL. Hey it's only once a month and you get some awesome food!

YUCK! I hate being HOT in my own house! I hope you cool off with fans until the A/C can be turned on.

CUTE album! Do you like using the acrylic albums? I haven't tried using them...I'm not sure how I feel about them, yet. ;)

Those acrylic books are so cute. Hope you get cooled off soon. We are already in the 90s here in Memphis.

I feel you on that one, my friend. I grew up in Ohio. But, you know, when I go home to visit my folks, I feel right at home in that humidity. Go get yourself one of those huge industrial fans from Home Depot. Maybe that'll do the trick.

Poor thing! I, too, don't want to turn on the AC yet... Electric bills are so expensive :(. One day when we're rich, we're gonna build a solar panelled house thingie! That mini album is great!

In Michigan, we're just now getting into our warm weather. We don't have central air (it gives me a headache if I'm in it too long), so we depend quite a bit on ceiling fans. They really work if you get the right size for the area!
