I found a House Mouse challenge blog while on Splitcoast the other day and I'm so excited! I love House Mouse stamps. So I thought I'd enter the challenge this week since I have a card that fits the challenge perfectly. Here is the card, the stamp is named Yawwn featuring Itty Bit from the Happy Hoppers line. Isn't the stamp just adorable?
BBC 16 Favorite Talk Show: Oprah
BBC 17 Three Favorite One Hit Wonder songs...gee as I look at the top 100 one hit wonders I see quite a few that I really like. Hmmm let's see if I can narrow it down some :).
Whip It - Devo
Montego Bay - Bobby Bloom
Spirit in the Sky - Norman Greenbaum
In the Summertime - Mungo Jerry
Turning Japanese - The Vapors
Achy Breaky Heart - Billy Ray Cyrus - This one is especially memorable, because Mitchell my oldest was 2.5 yrs old at the time and he sang his heart out to this song. Cindy his daycare provider even video taped him. But I guess the tape was taped over, I never did see it.
There are a few more I really like, but didn't want to go nuts as we were to only choose three.
BBC 18 - Favorite books as a child:
I loved reading:
- Henry Huggins, published in 1950.
- Henry and Beezus, published in 1952.
- Henry and Ribsy, published in 1954.
- Henry and the Paper Route, published in 1957.
- Henry and the Clubhouse
The Mouse and the Motorcycle is a children's novel written by Beverly Cleary and published in 1965.
We had a bookmobile that came to school every couple of weeks and I loved going there to get my books. Mitchell took after me and loves to read. Noah has a harder time as he is dyslexic and ADHD. So he prefers magazines with lots of pictures and of course stuff he's interested in like BMX bikes and Skateboarding. I got him a subscription to Popular Mechanics, because the subscription service for fundraising said they no longer carried Skateboarder Mag. I thought since it was a mechanic type mag and that's what Noah wants to do as a career he'd like it. But of course he doesn't and gives it to Tim to read. Oh and yes, I did ask him what he'd like but he didn't care...he said. There was a book called Happy Birthday Hector that I loved reading to the boys. It had a sing songy rhyme to it. I tried googling it, but didn't find it. Also loved reading Love You Forever here is an excerpt:
A mother held her new baby and very slowly rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And while she held him, she sang:
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
my baby you'll be.
The baby grew. He grew and he grew and he grew. He grew until he was two years old, and he ran all around the house. He pulled all the books off the shelves. He pulled all the food out of the refrigerator and he took his mother's watch and flushed it down the toilet. Sometimes his mother would say, "this kid is driving me CRAZY!"
But at night time, when that two-year-old was quiet, she opened the door to his room, crawled across the floor, looked up over the side of his bed; and if he was really asleep she picked him up and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. While she rocked him she sang:
I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.
I've been baking some cookies to take on our trip. I can't believe it is only two days before we leave. Actually a day and 1/2. It's gonna be a long trip...I figure close to 12 hrs. I'll let you know how long it took once we get back. It'll be longer going there since we'll stop in South Milwaukee to pick up Noah from his Dad's. On the way home we can cut out that part of Chicago to Milwaukee by going through Janesville-Rockford. We were finally able to find a tent yesterday. Tim is a little concerned as we looked at the weather forecast for the area and the prediction is scattered T-storms. I've been through it before and survived so it doesn't overly concern me. If it is bad I'm sure we can stay with my parents or other relatives who have a trailer. If it is really bad we can always head to my parents house which is about 45 mins from the campsite. Here's another containe
On Sunday I went to the stamp show in Novi, MI with a friend. It was so cool to see all the stamps and the demos. I only purchased two items. If money was no object, I sure could have brought home a ton of stuff. The biggest thing on my wish list is to get some nestabilities. So someday when I'm working again and the bills are paid up, I'll get me some nestabilities. It's nice to have a dream to work towards :).
Have a great week and weekend everyone...just in case I do not get back here before we leave. I will try to visit some blogs tomorrow.

That is great you found a House Mouse group!
Whip It and Turning Japanese -- I like those also. Some of them you just have to laugh at they are so kooky.
That is great you went to the Stamp Show, I have not been to one for a while. If I have no money to spend, I just take the camera and take pictures of the samples for at home inspiration.
