Summer fun

Happy Saturday! Summer has finally arrived - a few days ago. The past couple of days have been mild thankfully. It's hard working in heat or humidity. Next week the weather is supposed to be in the 90's. UGH, don't even want to think about it! I'm working on trying to create one card a day/night. I see Sandy Allnock's entries on Facebook and she seems to be able to do one - two a day. If she can then I should be able to right? Well I made 3 cards in the past few days. I hope to create something today/tonight. So at least I'm trying :). Here are the most recent cards I've created. I created this card with Unity Stamps, Basic Grey's Life of the Party Shindig and Bazzill Swiss Dot. I thought this would be a great card for Operation Write Home. I love sending cards to such a great cause. I've been sending for about 2 yrs now.

Entering the above card in the challenges listed below: Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - Fun in the Sun Catch the Bug - Red, White, Blue & Ribbon Stamp Something - Red, White, Blue

My second & third cards are based on this weeks' Mojo Monday. Flip flops are my choice of shoes for summer so this Unity stamp is perfect summer stamp for me. Love the sentiment too. I added a little bit of shimmer with a glitter gel pen for the flowers on the flip flops.

This last card just came together. I embossed the sentiment in Stampendous EP and then embossed Core'dinations Chocolate box with a cuttlebug folder then used an emery board to distress the embossing. Love these colors together, I really should use them more often.

Thought I'd share this wonderful summer photo with you. Makes you drool, huh? These are strawberries from my parent's garden. They're so yummy. I really lucked out this week. I got a 5 qt pail last Sunday when we visited for Father's Day. Then yesterday my mom called and said they were in town for a dentist appt. and that she had more strawberries for me. So I met them at Famous Dave's. I had a sweet ice tea while they had supper. This is the pail they gave me yesterday. Some are being frozen whole, so we can enjoy them with vanilla yogurt. Kind of like a parfait, I guess. The rest are being sweetened and I'm going to make shortcakes. MMMMM sounds so good.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope your weekend is wonderful and that your weather is warm and sunny.

Thank you for dropping by my blog...I love returning to my visitors blog and surfing some. Loving the strawberries. They come in at the first of May here and are gone by the end of the 3rd week. Now the peaches are in and I will eat till I make myself sick. I never buy store bought...haha. I see you said you have a Mitchell too.
