Catch Up!

Lack of sleep and a day long road trip has kind of set me back in my July photo a day challenge.  I did take over 50 photos yesterday on our road trip and also got the last three POD's done as well.

Day 6 was a chair. I found this awesome chair at Goodwill a few months back.  Love the colors and design.

Day 7 was a garden. Yesterday I picked up my sister for our road trip.  She has lived in this house nearly two years and I finally got to see it and the garden her and her hubby are perfecting.

Today's POD prompt is lunch. What can I say I like bacon!  It's on sale at the grocery store BOGO.  So of course I stopped by after dropping Mitch at ECCT.  This time I beefed up my BLT by adding Gouda Cheese and some honey mustard dressing/sauce.

Italian pepper named Carmen

One more photo shows you the pepper plant Kim found that has the name Carmen.  I hope it's a spicy one.  Haha!

Blogger seems to be acting up...I cannot get Day 8 caption centered under the photo.  I'm glad you took the time to stop by, please leave a comment.  Especially if you're doing this challenge too, because I'd sure like to stop by and see your creative photos.

POD 4 & 5

Yesterday the heat was so stifling that I did not go out much. I do have photos of fun and I know one that would make an awesome "floor" photo.   So here goes...

One of my favorite fun things to do is get together with family. I hadn't seen my nephew and great nephew in about 7 years.  They visited my brother in March. March was unseasonably warm, so of course we grilled out and played outside!

Love getting together with family - my nephew, great nephew, et al

Another March photo.  This one is downtown by the river.  Love being by water and this labyrinth is pretty cool!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and check out my POD photos.

Best Part of my Day - POD #3

Today I'm posting a photo that probably won't surprise many, be ho-hum to others and maybe a bit boring all together.  The best part of my day isn't my morning coffee, to be honest I only started drinking coffee about three years ago and I need quite a bit of creamer to make it palatable for me. I do love the smell of coffee, I always have.  But no, it's not the best part of my day.

The best part of my day - day 3

Yes, my laptop and internet are the best part of my day.  It helps me to keep in touch with friends and family. I've also got to meet new friends through blogging and social networking.  And though social networking sometimes gets a bad rap, I think of it pretty much the same as keeping in contact via a letter. People used to have pen-pals back in the day...people they had never met face to face, yet kept in contact for many years.  Some even eventually got a chance to meet their pen pal. So that's the best part of my day, when I can keep in touch, play a few games, share photos and positive quotes.

Thanks for stopping by...I'm enjoying a frozen margarita, very hot here in Wisconsin and tomorrow is our Independence Day holiday.  Happy Fourth of July to my fellow Americans.

POD Challenge

So it's the second day and I'm a little unsure of which photo to post.  I was hoping to get a real busy river shot.  The Eau Claire river is known for tubing and often there are tons of colorful tubes floating downriver.  I drove down at lunch time and there were people there swimming and floating, but not real busy. Busy for the time of day I guess.  After dropping Mitch at rehearsal (he's cast in Legally Blonde) I drove around hoping to catch a bunch of swimmers or something.  I drive by the rail area here in Altoona, WI.  Altoona is known for it's railroad.  After living here for just shy of two years, I'm not sure the whole history I just know that the high school is home to the Railroaders.  I'm guessing they'll never have to change their name to be more PC.  Anyway, so here is my POD I drove a little east and took this photo.  There are usually a few tracks filled with long lines of train cars.  Pretty busy most of the day.

So this is my first time ever doing a Photo of the Day challenge.  I hope to make it all the way through the month. I hope I become more creative with each new prompt.  You can join us here at Photo a Day July - Fat Mum Slim.

Something New

Today I while on Facebook I saw a July Picture of the Day challenge. It was re-posted by Tanisha Long, who I have long admired not only for her awesome scrapbooking and card-making but for her creative photography. So I'm going to give it a whirl.  Here is the link, if you'd like to challenge yourself com'on and join in the fun.

Here's my POD for July 1, 2012.

I like having painted toenails.  I liked painted nails too, but the toenails stay painted longer.  I feel like I'm naked without polish on my toenails. So now you'll see more blog posts from me. I hope I can keep up! Thanks for stopping by and have an awesome holiday week!
