Firsts 2016

I  purchased  this lovely Unity stamp  set back in September  when I  was at Bellacon15 at Mall of America. We used it in our mixed media class and I thought it would be a great addition  to make some awesome art. It took me this long  to get it out and use it. After seeing the quick  tag video from  Unity I had to see if I   could  create one myself. I  decided  to emboss with white embossing  powder and then I sponged marigold, lipstick and barn door disress inks on the flower. I  used tea dye distress ink on the background of the tag. I  tried stamping and embossing  the sentiment  on the tag, but it didn't  work  out. So I cut out a die cut and stamped and embossed that with copper ep. I distressed that with tea dye, lipstick and marigold. Adding some texture paste mixed with glitter stickles using a stencil Rebekah  Meier Designs stencil.  I have yet to figure  out what to use as the tie.

Well  I imagine  after that long story, if you're  still here, you'don't like to see the tag. Smiles. I am entering  this in the Unity blog hop. Thanks for stopping by. I  hope your weekend  is going great.

A Little Mojo

Wow it's  been  awhile. I  saw the Mojo Monday 405  sketch  and  thought it was one I could  easily use. I decided  to go summery, recalling that I  had some flip flop printed  paper. Then I  also realized  I  had a Unity flip flop stamp and Unity sentiment  stamp that would work well. So Friday night after a 2 hour nap I proceeded  to get creative and come up with a card to enter.

The other  side of the flip flop paper is a nice fuchsia  grid, so I   included  that as well. I finished  the flip flop flowers  with some glitter  and stickles. I also used stickles for the flower  center. Here is the card I came up with. I  can see using this sketch  again  and again.

A few weeks ago I was introduced  to Pocket Page Letters on the Unity Show and Tell Facebook  page. So after  watching  several  YouTube  videos  I started  creating   a pocket  letter. I  got a fewhole creative gals from my friends and family  interested  in swapping  a pocket  letter. So looking forward  to everyone's creativity.

Thanks for stopping  by, I hope you have a wonderful  week. Today here in west  central  Wisconsin  it's  going  to be a hot and humid day. Hope your Sunday is fun and creative!

Happy Friday!

It's Unity's Friends with Flair day and I'm excited to say that I've created some mini cards. My friend Kelly sent me some goodies and in one bag was this ivory colored card stock, which at first I thought was tags. I did discover that they had a score in the middle.  Folding them into six 3.25"x3.25" mini cards.  I ended up trimming off the 1/4 inch.

I needed some creative time because life has been pretty stressful lately. I won't get into all of it, but my mode of transportation is 14 yrs old and needs quite a bit of repair. Yesterday the brakes locked up, I knew brakes needed repair, but was just hoping to make it a little longer, so my son's friend could have done it for less expensive.  I got the brakes repaired and now need to get springs in the front as those are broken. I think I need a Fairy Godmother that is great at repairing vehicles!

Enough of that...here are three of the cards using the grab bag of Unity stamps I won for commenting.

Congratulations to Unity for hitting 60,000 Facebook followers. Unity has a great sale going on this weekend and The Friends with Flair challenge linky is open until midnight tonight, winners are announced on Monday. Thanks to my friends Kelly and Carolyn for the goodies and inspiration! I'm so glad the two of you are in my life. Also, a big thank you to Angela for creating such awesome stamps and being so generous with them!

Friends with Flair

Well hello there!  My second blog post in less than a week, a rare happening these days.  I vowed to use my Unity Stamps more often and today I thought I'd see what I could come up with to enter Unity's Friday Friends with Flair challenge. And I'm happy to report that I came up with a card! I spent some time looking for this stamp I won from Unity last year.  I lucked out twice last year and won liking and or sharing cards made with Unity Stamps. I stamped a few different colors and sentiments and decided to stick with the So Special stamp that I won.  Angela is very generous with her fabulous stamps.

Here is my Friday Friends with Flair entry.

I like using "office looking" printed paper and the file folder die cut works with it perfectly. Distressing with my fingernail and some distress ink is another technique I like to use. I like the dimension distressing gives the card or project.

Thanks for stopping by again. I hope you enjoy your weekend and spend some time getting creative!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year! We made it to 2015, can you believe it? Smiles. Always wonderful to start out the year with such hope and optimism. I'm looking forward to forming new friendships, appreciating the wonderful friends I already have and striving for personal growth.

A couple of the friends I've made through the wonderful hobby of papercrafting and stamping have challenged each other to enter the Unity (Be Inspired) Challenge. Which is a month long challenge and has a wonderful prize package for the monthly winner. I decided to go with the color challenge. I do not use pastel colors very often, so that is a challenge in itself. It took me a little bit this morning, but I finally came up with a card that I'm happy with.

Here is the card I created:

This is an older Unity stamp, I really like the sentiment. I recently got the Impression Obsession coffee cup die and used it for the very first time today. Also, the file folder die is an older Spellbinders, that got used for the first time today.

This year I vow to pull out my Unity Stamps more and enter challenges when I can. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a wonderful week!
