Happy Friday!

It's Unity's Friends with Flair day and I'm excited to say that I've created some mini cards. My friend Kelly sent me some goodies and in one bag was this ivory colored card stock, which at first I thought was tags. I did discover that they had a score in the middle.  Folding them into six 3.25"x3.25" mini cards.  I ended up trimming off the 1/4 inch.

I needed some creative time because life has been pretty stressful lately. I won't get into all of it, but my mode of transportation is 14 yrs old and needs quite a bit of repair. Yesterday the brakes locked up, I knew brakes needed repair, but was just hoping to make it a little longer, so my son's friend could have done it for less expensive.  I got the brakes repaired and now need to get springs in the front as those are broken. I think I need a Fairy Godmother that is great at repairing vehicles!

Enough of that...here are three of the cards using the grab bag of Unity stamps I won for commenting.

Congratulations to Unity for hitting 60,000 Facebook followers. Unity has a great sale going on this weekend and The Friends with Flair challenge linky is open until midnight tonight, winners are announced on Monday. Thanks to my friends Kelly and Carolyn for the goodies and inspiration! I'm so glad the two of you are in my life. Also, a big thank you to Angela for creating such awesome stamps and being so generous with them!

Happy Halloween!

Okay, so it's not Halloween just yet, but it is right around the corner.  It's sort of Halloween for me, because I won a few prizes around World Card Making Day.  I will post a photo of what I receive.  So far I've only received my prize pack from Reminisce paper.  I was Runner Up in a Pin and Win contest.  I got a nice sized box of scrapbook paper, stickers and dimensional sticker. Some of the scrapbook paper is die cut.  There is a huge snowflake, ornament and peppermint candy paper. There is probably more than that I just can't remember it at the moment.  I had to take two photos to get all of it in and really the photos don't show all.

I have been busy creating inventory for an upcoming craft sale.  It is called Gifted Marketplace and will help to support the Eau Claire Children's Theater.  Mitch, my oldest, has been involved with ECCT since last year.  He's been in Camp Rock, Footloose, Legally Blonde and is rehearsing for Peter Pan right now.  You can check out Gifted here on Facebook. So if you are in the Eau Claire area, stop on out and do some holiday shopping.  It will be at the Oxford Theater Nov. 16 and 17th.  Which is also the weekend of Peter Pan, so I guess I will go either opening night or Sunday.

Here are some of the creations I've made.  I have never made a set of 3x3 mini cards until a couple of weeks ago and now it seems that I'm on a roll. Smiles. I've also made boxes to store the cards in.

I must say nestabilities, SRM stickers and pretty paper make it easy to create these little cards.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend and fabulous Halloween!

April Fool's??

I'm thinking Mother Nature wanted to play a prank on us today. It's nearly two weeks into Spring and of course we got snow! It's supposed to get warmer today but there is fog and drizzle also in the forecast for today. So the one inch of snow will be gone soon.

This week I just had to get out the
colored pencils and one of my favorite spring images and color. Coloring is so relaxing and enjoyable for me. Putting the card together was a little more stressful, there are just so many ways to go with this Fred, She Said digi image. This time I decided to go white on white with a little pop of color. Of course, I couldn't stop with just one card, I had to do four right away.
I'm entering this card in:

I really appreciate the time you took to stop by and say hi! Hope your weekend is fabulous.

Surprise!

After not entering challenges for such a while, it was nice to log on this morning and find in my email that I made the top three at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge! That will definitely help the mojo and fuel the fire to enter more upcoming challenges. A friend told me about a blog called Feline Playful, that lists all the blog challenges for each day of the week and also lists each challenge's specific deets. They also list the winners, have a blog candy button, a DT call button and more. So check it out and you'll probably find more challenges you can enter or a heck of a lot of inspiration if you check out each challenge's entries.

Of course I couldn't blog without showing you some cards I made recently. I got this Hero Arts Silhouette Grass stamp as a birthday present for myself. Then I looked up how others used it and and came up with my cards. I really like it embossed and the fact that I found some pretty colors of Stampendous Pearl Lustre EP helped greatly!

For the first card I followed inspiration I saw I believe on sb.com by embossing on MME 29th Street Market paper. I used Stampendous Pearl Lustre EP in Jade. The original was embossed in white. I added a glittery butterfly I won from Curt's blog candy awhile back. It's always amazing to me when I move what actually makes it! I used some leftover ribbon that my mom had a bag of ribbon and lace and wasn't sure what to do with it. I said I could use it for card making and scrappin'. The second card I embossed again but thought it was just begging for a sunny day scene. So I sponged a blue sky and a soft yellow sun. Of course it needed a glittery butterfly as well :). The sentiment is a KI Memories clear stamp that my friend Char gave me. I used my newest nestabilities Curved Rectangles. I really like that they are so large. I have the Cancer is so Limited poem and have had a hard time find a die that will fit the lengthy poem. But this one fits the bill!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful week!

New Busy Beauties Stamp Release Blog Hop!!

Wow that is one long title! Sorry I'm late getting my post posted. I have been working on a couple of items for this release and got behind. I finally was able to finish one item and will post it now, thanks to the stickles finally drying :D. I decided to color up our resident snowman Jolly, doesn't he have the sweetest face? Just makes you want to hug him! I thought he would look cute on one of Lauren Meader's Box Bags.

So I pulled out the tutorial and this wonderful BoBunny double sided paper from one of their new Christmas lines. I believe it's called 'Tis the Season. Just love turquoise and red together! Since there is some green in the paper I thought I'd mat Jolly with some green Bazzill Bling using my Nestabilities Deckle edge rectangle. I think this turned out cute and am happy to have another container to put goodies in for the upcoming gift giving season.

You should have arrived from the very talented Heather and will go onto Rachel's Blog next to see what lovely creations she has come up with. You won't be disappointed *grins*. If you just dropped in from blog land and want to join in the blog hop please start with Grace. Please be sure to leave a comment on all the blogs in the blog hop you will have 10 chances to win a free Busy Beauties digi stamp and there will be
ONE Grand Prize winner of three Busy Beauties digi stamps of their choice! Stop back if you have the chance to see what other creations I have posted. Thank you and Good luck!

Cupcakes Anyone?

Remember Busy Beauties Boutique will be releasing new Busy Beauties and accessories on Dec. 3rd. Awhile back I won some blog candy from Curt. You really need to stop over at his blog, he's so very creative and is a master with the House Mouse, Happy Hoppers and Gruffies stamps. He had such a nice box full of all sorts of goodies. There were two pkgs. of K&Co long cards in the box. I was excited to see them as I've wanted to make some cards using the long/tall shape, but didn't really have the envelopes to go with. Well let me tell you, after creating 4.25"x5.5" and 5.5"x5.5" this shape is a little more difficult to figure out how to fill in the space. One day I tried and just gave up and put it all away. The next time after looking at more blogs, papercrafting sites I decided to give a whirl. It's kind of funny because this time I used ideas that were used on smaller cards for the long rectangle shape. So here is a sneak peek of the new BB Swirly Cupcake digi stamp using the long rectangular shaped card.

Remember you can click on the photos to make the images larger

I came up this card between last night and today. This is loosely based on a Kristina Werner card. If you need some cards quick, you should stop by her blog she has been doing a card design how to video per day. Today she is on card #16.

Here are a few more long/tall cards I've created.

And last but not least here is a 3"x3"gift tag I created using the BB Swirly Cupcake. I haven't decided on whether to punch a hole and add some jute for a hanging tag or to make an envelope. What do you think? Have an idea where this might be going? A Busy Beauty baker, chef, or just a frazzled mom? Keep watching....
