Tonight I went shopping for my secret pal. I unfortunately did not have any luck finding her something from her list and I went to two places. Well the second place was JoAnn Fabrics. My friend mentioned she was going to the fabric section after we looked over the scrap section. Oh yeah I said I need to look at some fabric too. I want to make curtains for the dining room and for the window in the kitchen. After looking and looking and making comments about all sorts of tie dye/hippie fabric or cute insect fabric that of course would be better suited for a toddler or preschooler. I finally found my Chef fabric. There was only 2.75 yds on the bolt I asked them to call the store near me to see if they had anymore of this fabric and they did but only 2 yds and 20". I said save it for me. I still am not sure this will be enough for all four windows especially with the kitchen window being a bit wider than the others. I just want to do cafe style curtains and a valance. I may have to put a border on the fabric too since it's only 45" wide. I also found some skull fabric that I thought would be perfect for Noah's windows. He decided to take a room in the basement and I thought a yd and a 1/2 would be plenty for such narrow windows, actually I think a yd is enough, but of course I was talked into the additional 1/2 yd just in case. I'm looking forward to getting these measured out and sewn. I should see if I can find a picture of the fabric so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about. Well I can't find a good picture of the fabric on the net. It's three chef's riding bicycles or a motor scooter with a brown/tan background. The background looks sort of woodgrain. Well I hope it'll make up into nice cafe curtains. If not I see there are a ton of cute novelty fabrics out there by Lorilynn Simms. I'll be getting creative but with fabric instead of paper. I have several windows to make curtains for, but will want to papercraft in between. I love the light that comes in this house, but when you're trying to sleep in, all the light makes it a bit difficult ;).
Thanks for stopping by and hopefully soon I'll have something creative to post either curtains, a LO or a card. :D
